Brian is passionate about growing businesses — he has owned 25 of them over the past 50 years. His experience spans the world, first as a builder and developer in Africa and Perth, and then within the franchise sector helping businesses to grow by over $5bn.
Brian used his expertise in business and his time in Africa to help found and manage MicroLoan Foundation Australia, a not-for-profit organisation which provides small business loans and training to women in Africa.
MicroLoan helps these women set up their own businesses so they can take their families out of poverty and afford housing, food, healthcare and education.
At Microloan, it’s all about giving hope not handouts. The organisation provides the tools and skills to enable the poorest women in sub-Saharan Africa to work their own way out of poverty so they can support themselves, their families and, in many cases, other families through employment into the future.
And because Microloan clients in Africa repay 99% of the loans in full, MicroLoan Foundation can use the money again and again to help more women to start and build a business. This means a small investment goes on working for many years to come, helping more women to achieve financial security for the first time in their lives.
Brian is passionate about helping people achieve financial independence through business and live their lives happily. He does this through his work with MicroLoan Foundation Australia and through his commercial business in Australia—Franchise Simply, which helps business people to grow their businesses through franchising.
