After migrating to Australia at the ripe age of 32, Michael spent over 25 years in the NSW public service until news of a redundancy altered his world – and his mind. He has studied in three countries. He went to school at Trinity College, Kandy, in the beautiful hill country of Sri Lanka. Michael then went to America in 1984 where he got an Associate Degree in Aviation Administration from Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio and then a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with a Minor in Finance from California State University, Northridge. Having migrated to Australia in 1988, Michael continued postgraduate studies and got a Master of Commerce degree in Macroeconomics and Public Policy from the University of NSW, a Graduate Certificate in Public Policy from the University of New England, Armidale and a Graduate Certificate in Management from Charles Sturt University. Michael is a member of a number of professional organisations, including: Customer Service Institute of Australia (CSIA), Society of Editors (NSW), International Travel Writers and Photographers Alliance (ITWPA) and the Australian Institute of Emergency Services (AIES).Michael has successfully trained, coached and mentored many people of all ages and has written, edited and proofread thousands of sensitive and confidential correspondence and other documents for the Minster for Roads, Members of Parliament, the Chief Executive of Roads and Maritime Services, senior managers and customers. Following the disappearance of his job in November 2013, because of a massive reorganisation of public sector agencies, Michael is now following his passions of writing, editing, training, coaching and helping others.
